Building Hey Vitae end to end
A job-search tool I designed and built during my MBA.
Hey Vitae is a job-search tool built around interview prep. I built it during my MBA the same way I approach support: find where people get stuck, then fix it.
What it does:
- Interview rehearsal shaped by the real job posting and interview round
- Resume feedback and tailoring that changes emphasis, never invents experience
- A fit score, with every requirement marked met, partial, or a gap
- A scout that reads 18,000+ company job boards
- Tracking for every job, date, and follow-up
My part: I designed it and built it with AI coding tools: what it should do, how it should feel, the copy, and the guardrails. The stack is Next.js and Supabase, Vercel AI Gateway, Langfuse to trace AI calls, plus Sentry and PostHog.
Why it matters: it keeps me hands-on with what AI is good at and where it still needs a person, which is useful on any team putting AI in front of customers.
